Anoplasty Surgery in Kansas City

What is an Anoplasty?

The goal of an anoplasty is to help regain normal function of the anus by widening the anal canal, thus helping stools pass easier. If the patient is suffering from anything else, such as an anal fistula or imperforate anus, more surgery may be required.

When is an Anoplasty Needed?

If an anoplasty has been recommended for you, it is likely due to anal stenosis, most commonly caused by a hemorrhoidectomy, or a congenital anal defect.

The process may take place in one surgical procedure, or may require multiple procedures depending on the severity. However, in all cases the surgeries will take place under general anesthesia.
